Most cruising vessels also offer phone service. International direct-dialing facilities are available on all resorts. Fax service is available without any difficulty. Provision of telephone service to the rest of the country is under way with only the remotest islands now waiting for telephones. Chances are that the normal tourist will never catch himself in a place without a telephone.

DHIRAAGU also operates a pager service and cellular (GSM) telephone service. The use of Internet has become very popular in the Maldives and most resorts are very much on line.
