In the Maldives, we say that the sea is there for the taking. You need to
join us to find out what we mean by that.
We call it a 'safari'! If that word conjures up visions of waterless
deserts, please do forgive us. Your safari with us is actually on water.
Just imagine island after lush island slipping by to port and starboard as
you bask on a sun deck with a tall drink to keep you company. When the
time comes for a dip, it is as simple as heaving the anchor over
board and enjoying a swim off a particularly alluring uninhabited island.
If you are the gregarious type, why not stop at a fishing village...
One way to take the sea here is to take to the sea. Cruising vessels
specially commissioned to cater to the needs of guests like you come in
all shapes and sizes. There are vessels that cater to small groups of six
to eight guests. On the other extreme, there are vessels large enough to
offer forty individual cabins as well. Our observation is that the common
factor between the smaller and the larger vessels would probably be the
relatively high standard of service given on both.
Most cruising vessels offer air-conditioned cabins, restaurant and bar
facilities, sun decks, diving equipment and instruction, excellent
communication services, fishing tackle, etc. Your itinerary on one would
often include stopping over for varying lengths of time at favorite
diving, snorkeling or fishing points, in addition to visits to various
islands.
